Holiday Concert at SCHC

What happens when your favorite holiday tunes cozy up with jazz standards? Combo Carols, H3O Jazz Trio’s new holiday album, features 13 original mashups with the group joined by family and friends. Come and celebrate the album release on Saturday, November 22 from 2:00 – 3:30 pm at the Steele County Historical Society (1700 Austin Road, Owatonna). Joining H3O will be John Sievers on trombone, Randy Nelson on drums, and H3O’s “mom” Janet Heukeshoven on flute. Selections from the new album will be performed throughout the afternoon as well as a few bonus tracks. The event is free and open to all. Copies of the new CD and the trio’s first album, TafelJazz, will be available for purchase.

H3O Jazz Trio is well known to Owatonna audiences. Each summer for the past decade, H3O has led the History Center’s annual “Jazz on the Patio” event. The group features a father and his two sons. Now in their 14th year, the trio began playing together when the younger son, Max, was only 14 years old. Along with older brother Hans on drums and vibes and dad Eric on the piano, the group was asked to play for a private pool party and haven’t stopped since!
