New Restaurant Open at Brooktree Golf Course
OWATONNA, July 24, 2023 – The City of Owatonna Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department is announcing a new restaurant is open and ready to serve customers at Brooktree Golf Course. Lacey’s at Brooktree opened over the weekend bringing a fresh menu and high quality of service to golfers and non-golfers.
City staff and Lacey’s management are collaborating to fulfill the community’s desire for food and beverages at the municipally-owned golf course. “While a mid-season change in food and beverage providers is not ideal, the transition from the previous food and beverage provider has gone really well,” according to Jenna Tuma, Director of Parks, Recreation & Facilities. “I want to thank everyone involved in the transition and our patrons for their patience. We realize the importance of food and beverage services at Brooktree and are excited about working with Lacey’s,” Tuma added.
Lacey’s brings 30 years of experience, 16 of which were at high-end golf courses. The owners also operate Lacey’s Kitchen & Cocktails in Kenyon, Minnesota. The menu will include traditional golfer favorites and a mix of upscale-casual items including their pepper-jack dip, custom burgers and citrus-glazed salmon. For the first few weeks, the menu will be limited menu with a full menu to follow.
The City Council unanimously approved an on-sale liquor license at its July 18 meeting for Lacey’s Kitchen and Cocktails to operate Lacey’s at Brooktree. The City of Owatonna’s priority is to serve Brooktree’s golfers and the community at large through the clubhouse at the course. The Brooktree clubhouse is undergoing renovations that began last year with the addition of a new bar and a renovated dining area. The changes were implemented following a series of listening sessions and an online survey that provided feedback about how the course could be improved for its members and the community as a whole. Tuma continued, “Our commitment to providing a quality experience for golfers and diners remains our primary goal.” Another round of clubhouse updates is planned for this winter.
Brooktree is nestled along the banks of Maple Creek near the entrance of picturesque Mineral Springs Park. From the greens, golfers can hear the calming sound of water flowing over smooth rocks in the creek bed, breathe in the fresh air of the lush surroundings and bask in the beautiful scenic landscape.
