Owatonna Middle School Orchestra and Jazz Band Concert to perform at the Owatonna Arts Center

The Owatonna Middle School instrumental music program serves more than 300 young musicians. Among them, the Jazz Band and Sunrise Orchestra are select ensembles that rehearse once a week before school, offering students an additional opportunity to expand their musical skills.
The Jazz Band performs four times each year, including appearances at the Solo and Ensemble Festival, the Owatonna Arts Center, a joint concert with the high school Jazz Band (and this year, the Southern Minnesota Real Big Band), and the Kyle DeKam Leadership Award ceremony.
The Sunrise Orchestra shares music throughout the community as well, including performing at Bass Pro Shop, pancake breakfasts throughout the community, the Music Boosters of Owatonna fundraiser events and most recently presenting a tour of several senior living residences.
