Owatonna's Historic Main Street District consists of twelve city blocks, with contributing buildings ranging in date from 1876 to the late 1950s.
Three properties are listed in the National Register of Historic Places: the National Farmers Bank (1907-1908, NHL), the Steele County Courthouse (1891-1892), and the Firemen’s Hall (1907). The district contains a total of 75 contributing buildings and one park (Central Park, 1871).
